Decklin's Domain is delighted to announce that the Demise and Mordor family
of fantasy rpg's are moving in with us. The Demise forums are at http://decklinsdemise.com/forum/index.php
and the Demise home page is shortly relocating to http://decklinsdemise.com/index.htm
. There will be a number of changes affecting all our sites over the next
little while as we modify our product offerings, our forums and our
support. Within a few days we hope to start up a number of official
multi-player servers to support the 'official' products.

With all that's been going on with the weather lately it is good to hear
about some of the animal welfare work that's ongoing. If you feel like
helping, probably the best way ( if you know someone who is volunteering ) is to
offer to help them directly, contribute to their expenses etc. All the
volunteers here paid their own air fares, hotel, car rentals and bought most of
their food. The link below gives a glimpse into the
animal rescue efforts .... the photograph is © Marv Heston

An announcement was posted on the Pharaoh Productions site today:
Demise News,
from Decklin of Decklin's Domain, September 1st 2005:
"
Decklin's Domain, MakeItSo and Pharaoh Productions have come
to a contractual agreement to work together over the
next few months to ensure that Demise: Rise of the Ku'Tan ( and
its earlier kin Mordor 1 ) will move to a safe haven and a secure
new base from which to grow. Within a few weeks the Demise
website and forums will be moved to decklinsdemise.com
. We will keep the Pharaoh boards and site intact of
course and expect the process will be reasonably painless."
"
Demise 1.03 downloads as well as My Demise availability will
continue unchanged although there may be minor re-arrangements
within the forums and the site from time to time as we get further
into the transition. "
"
We are very excited by this move. There is a lot of
work ahead of us but we expect to complete the re-arrangement in
time for Demise to greet the New Year with a new lease on life and a
few more tricks up its sleeve."
"
We will keep you informed as we go - and thanks to everyone from
all quarters for their continued support."
Decklin ( the Twisted Dwarf ) may be reached for comment via the boards or by
email at decklin@decklinsdemise.com

A memorable day for my musical education;-) ....
my brother forwarded this link, check out Mrs Miller at Frank's
Vinyl Museum . Unfortunately (or fortunately?) the samples are in Real
Audio format - I don't recommend that anyone actually installs any Real Audio
Player due to that company's invasive past practices.

Tall ships schedule (carried forward from last year).
| VOYAGES OF DISCOVERY ~
9TH ANNUAL TALL SHIPS TOUR
OCTOBER 2004 THRU FEBRUARY 2005
In 1996 the Tall Ships, HAWAIIAN CHIEFTAIN & LADY
WASHINGTON set sail from the San Francisco Bay on a mission to
bring history alive for Californian school kids. The VOYAGES OF
DISCOVERY 4th & 5th grade sailing & dockside education
programs give present day students an insight into the lives of 18th
century sailors and explorers. To date, over 100,000 participants
have enjoyed that hands-on experience.
The ships are replicas of 1700’s period vessels and will visit 15
ports on the six month long, ninth annual TALL SHIPS TOUR which
began in Sausalito on October 24th, 2004.
People of all ages can indulge in a taste of maritime history on
Dockside Tours of the ships guided by the enthusiastic costumed crews.
Interactive Adventure Sail Training and Cannon Battle Reenactment Sails
are available in each port and berths can also be booked on Port to Port
Passages.
A highlight of the Tour is the LONG BEACH SEA FESTIVAL
scheduled for January 8 & 9, 2005. The impressive list of
participating vessels includes HAWAIIAN CHIEFTAIN, LADY
WASHINGTON, CALIFORNIAN, LYNX, SPIRIT OF DANA POINT & SWIFT OF
IPSWICH. The Festival will feature Dockside Tours of all
the ships and Cannon Battle Reenactment Sails.
At the Festival close, there is a unique opportunity for passengers
to sail aboard the ships on a TALL SHIPS RACE. The race
course is from Long Beach to San Diego and finishes with a spectacular TALL
SHIPS PARADE into the San Diego Maritime Museum on January 12.

| A potted history of BBC news ~ The BBC was founded in 1922
as the British Broadcasting Company by a consortium of private companies
and then in 1927 it was changed to be an autonomous corporation run by a
board of governors with four year terms appointed by the government of
the day. It ran the World's first regular high definition TV
service from Alexandra Palace in 1936 but service was suspended during
World War II. As it is financed by sales of television licenses as
well as income from sales of its vast stock of programming it remains
essentially free of advertising and the censorship that goes along with
that. The BBC news is regarded by many as one of the few
broadcast sources with balanced reporting. If you wish to learn
more of the history of this institution or indeed just about any other
subject under the Sun ~ visit Wikipedia,
the free encyclopedia. |
Notes on the media links. The BBC
news is linked as it remains one of the few remaining balanced sources
of world news followed closely by the CBC , the Canadian television and
radio agency. We admit there is a west coast bias to the newspaper links as
we are located in the San Francisco Bay Area. It is not our
intention to expand the list indefinitely, but if you have a source of
balanced information anywhere in the world that you think deserves a
spot here, then please feel free to email (address is at the bottom of
the page). |
